R loop who?...I don't know her

Wowwww this whole journal club presentation was a journ(al)eeeeey. This was the first time that I had presented research performed by someone else. I initially tried to read the paper on my way home during spring break, but quickly realized that it wasn’t a good idea because I already have plane anxiety, so reading the paper just decreased my cell’s viability. When I finally got to it, it took me 2 hours to get through a FOUR PAGE PAPER. I have always prided myself in being a fast reader, but words like “immunofluorescent assay” and “EWS-FLI1” had me pulling up google tabs left and righty. I still didn’t completely understand the paper when I started my presentation and was really worried that some of the conclusions I was drawing I just made up. But thankfully it wasn’t in my head, and every time I practiced, I became more confident in my abilities and the paper actually started making sense (lol). I usually don’t get very nervous for presenting until right before I go, so shaking that out in the 30 second span before I have to start talking is pretty challenging. I just had to keep telling myself that it would be over in 10 minutes and that on Wednesday I could sit back and relax J(which I am planning on doing). Also shout out to Leslie for bringing that pancake bread, CHANGED MY LIFE.
