Mod1 reflection
I am actually really impressed with how much improvement I
have seen with my science writing over these past couple weeks! At first, I was
very unconfident in my writing abilities -- I did not know what constituted a “good
caption” or what was too little or too much information to go along with a
figure. I found myself putting in a lot of time in on the homework assignments and
being hesitant to submit. However, by the end of submitting the data summary, I
consciously noticed that writing captions and results were significantly easier
than it had been in the past! Every assignment that had constructive feedback
(which was all of them, lol) helped me grow and communicate more precisely. I
also enjoyed having a project that allowed me to comprehend/piece all of our data
together. I cannot remember another assignment where application of what was
done in class (not just the main facts) was a main focus. I found my mind being
pushed to see the bigger picture of the project and it was refreshing. I would say the hardest part of the assignment was writing the abstract; it took a long time to decide if something was too detailed or not detailed enough; this was the part of the data summary I spent the most time on/went back to countless times. Sadly,
our meager data was probably insignificant at the end of all of this, but none
the less, I learned a lot from this module!
I am looking forward to taking all of our skills to the next level and writing cohesive paragraphs versus bulleted information in Mod2's big journal article assignment. Although a daunting task, I think the fact we started out with bullets versus writing full paragraphs will really help me in not getting overwhelmed when going through the writing process.

Also, shout out to TEAM RED. We killed it with time
management this time around. #proud
